Divine Mercy

REASON FOR DEVOTION TO THE DIVINE MERCY:  As unpleasant or out-of place some people may consider the thought of the end times to be, there is no way of avoiding the fact that today, Jesus is calling all mankind to turn with devotion to His Divine Mercy as a preparation for His return in glory.

RECOGNISE MY MERCY NOW WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME:  Jesus said:  “Write down these words, my daughter.  Speak to the world about My Mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy.  It is a sign for the end times; after it, will come the day of justice.  While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the blood and water which gushed forth for them. (11,229-230)

TO PEOPLE WHO SPREAD DIVINE MERCY: Jesus said, “Tell my priests that hardened sinners will crumble beneath their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart.  To priests who will proclaim and extol My mercy I will give wonderful power, and I will anoint their words and I will touch the hearts to which they will speak”.  Diary of Blessed Faustina (V.115)

THE FOUNDATION OF ALL DEVOTION TO DIVINE MERCY:   TRUST.  Jesus said:  The Graces of My Mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, that is TRUST.  The more a soul trusts the more it will receive. (v.148)  Sooner would Heaven and Earth turn into nothingness than would My Mercy not embarace a trusting soul. (VI.129)   MERCY.  Jesus said:  You are to be my living reflection through love and mercy, be always Merciful toward other people, especially toward sinners. (V.59)  Love everyone out of Love for Me. (VI.68)

TELL THE WHOLE WORLD OF MY MERCY:  The message of Divine Mercy is at the heart of the gospel.  It presents the truth and the call of the gospel and is proclaimed by Pope John Paul II, in his encyclical Rich in Mercy, as the message for our age:  “The church must consider it one of her principal duties – at every stage of history and especially in our modern age – to proclaim and to introduce into life the mystery of Divine Mercy, supremely revealed in Jesus Christ” (14).  Over and over again Our Lord expressed His desire to Blessed Faustina that the whole world be told of His mercy, and He promised to defend throughout their lives those who proclaim His mercy.

Proclaim to the whole world My unfathomable mercy.  Do not be discouraged by the difficulties you encounter in proclaiming My mercy.  These difficulties that affect you so painfully are evidence that this work is Mine.
