OF THE
SACRED HEART OF JESUS

If Mass will be celebrated, it is recommended that a votive Mass of the Sacred Heart be used unless there is another overriding Liturgical celebration.
♥OPENING
INDIVIDUAL:
This is one of the most important gatherings of my life since the Enthronement brings countless blessings to individuals and families. By the Enthronement I proclaim Jesus as King who rules over me through love….but He is more like a Father than a ruler. He becomes my generous Provider, my Friend, my Counselor, my spiritual Physician, my constant Companion, the unseen Guest at every meal.
I certainly want Him to be all these things because each and every one of us needs His help. It is not easy to be good and do good. I can’t do it alone, but with Jesus’ help, I can.
INDIVIDUAL reads an appropriate Scripture passage such as Deuteronomy 7:6-11.
PRIEST/LAY PROMOTER:
Jesus is your Lord and He rules through His Heart! He desires to be enthroned as King and Lord of your heart as your brother and friend. He longs to share your everyday life, your joys as well as your sorrows.
Scripture says, “My people, whom I love so dearly, behold I stand at the door and knock: if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him and he with Me.” (Rv 3:20)
Jesus is your savior and your Liberator. He wants to save you from the evil forces working to destroy you, to liberate you from the slavery of sin and the shackles of fear, depression and worry.
Jesus is ready to release in your home the power of His Spirit. He is the Healer, the Consoler, the Sanctifier, and the Teacher. But He will not force His way into your heart or you home. He wants to be invited. He is waiting to hear you say to Him:
INDIVIDUAL:
Come Lord Jesus! Stay with me, I need You! Be my Lord, my Brother, my Friend! Send me Your Holy Spirit and give me a new heart, a new spirit! Say to me as you did to John: Surely I am coming soon. (Rv 22:20)
PRIEST/LAY PROMOTER:
Yes the Father loves you, Jesus loves you, the Holy Spirit loves you. What have you to fear? His Wounded Heart is the sign and pledge of His merciful love. His heart is open to receive you!
♥BLESSING OF IMAGE
♥PROCESSION AND ENTHRONEMENT
The INDIVUDUAL takes the Sacred Heart image into his/her hands in preparation for the procession to the place of honor. A GUEST (or a child) carries the Bible. OTHER GUESTS with candles slowly lead the procession to where the image will be placed. Any hymn that proclaims Jesus as Lord or King may be sung. One such song is: “To Jesus Christ Our Sovereign King”
Arriving at the throne, the GROUP gathers in a semicircle. Before enthroning the Sacred Heart the INDIVIDUAL says while placing the image of the Sacred Heart in the selected place of honor:
“I now enthrone Jesus as King, Lord, and Friend of my life.”
The GUEST places the Bible near the Sacred Heart image and says:
“We are nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ and the Word of God.”
INDIVIDUAL:
Jesus, I love You, I praise You! I accept Your loving rule over my heart and my life.
OTHER GUESTS place the candles on either side of the image.
ALL: “God is enthroned as King forever!” (Ps 29) “All that the Lord has said we will heed and do.”
(Ex 24:7)
PRIEST/LAY PROMOTER: As an act of loving faith in all of Jesus’ teachings (manifestations of
His love), and as an act of atonement for those who reject them or do not practice them, let us say the Apostles’ Creed.
ALL:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day he arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy CatholicChurch, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Kneeling or standing facing the image of the Sacred Heart, the INDIVIDUAL now makes his/her covenant with the Heart of Jesus, My King, Lord and Friend:
INDIVIDUAL:
Jesus, I enthrone You as King and proclaim You as Lord and Friend of my life. Yes Lord, I do want You to rule over my heart and will through Your loving Heart. Share my everyday life; my joys and sorrows. Be my well beloved Brother, my intimate Friend!
Come, Lord Jesus, come! My heart and home is open to You. Stay with me, I need You. Release in my home the power of Your Spirit, the Healer, the Consoler. Save me from the evil forces seeking to destroy me.
My Father in heaven take away my stony heart and give me a new heart; unselfish, generous and pure heart filled with love for You! Heal my hurts, bind up my wounds, unite me with others in love. May my love go beyond my home and inspire me to love those in need as Jesus loves me.
Lord Jesus, to Your loving, glorified Heart, Your wounded Heart, I dedicate, I consecrate my weak, my selfish heart. I humbly acknowledge that without You I can do nothing, but with Your help and Your grace I can do all things: even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Mary, Mother of theChurchand my Mother, help me to make my life a true reflection of YourChurch, that is, a life full of love, worship, and prayer.
GoodSt. Joseph, head of the Holy Family, watch over me as you watched over Jesus and Mary atNazareth. Obtain for me that same loving trust in Divine Providence that sustained you in all your trials.
May the Lord bless me and keep me! May His face shine upon me and be gracious to me! May He look upon me with kindness and give me peace! And may Almighty God bless me, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

♥CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
PRIEST/LAY PROMOTER: Our Holy Father has urged all to consecrate themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, therefore let ______________ (name of individual) honor her with this prayer:
INDIVIDUAL:
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and tender Mother of theChurchI consecrate myself to you and to your Immaculate Heart and recommend myself to your loving care, as well as my family, families in my neighborhoods, and families throughout my country.
Please accept my consecration dearest Mother and use me and all families to accomplish your designs upon the world. O Spouse of the Holy Spirit, kindle in my heart and home the love of purity the practice of truly Christian life and the courage to witness my faith even at the cost of ridicule and suffering.
Make my home a Marian shrine, a Eucharistic shrine, a house of prayer, a Christian fortress, a truly domesticChurchso that through me Jesus may be proclaimed as King and Lord and loved as Friend in many homes in my parish and in my country. Amen.

♥CERTIFICATE
The individual signs the Covenant Certificate followed by the priest/lay promoter. Guests may sign the front sides or reverse of the certificate if the individual so desires. This Certificate may be framed and placed near the Lord’s “throne” in the home. A closing hymn may be sung

To celebrate this important event, refreshments may be served.
