Msgr. Esseff reflects on the life of the Sisters of the Missionaries of the Charity…they are to live a life of a radical poverty, like the lives of the ones they serve.  They come from all over the world and are sent to every country to shed the radiance of the Gospel.  They offer wholehearted service to all those who are a burden to others and to human society who have lost all faith, hope, and life….when others run from the poorest of the poor, they are to run to them.  How can you do that?

We need to do more than just to admire the Sisters and their apostolate…we need do what they do.  They go to the “well”.  They go deep to the fount of prayer found in their hearts…they go to Jesus.  Unless we do the same we will not know Jesus, we will not recognize Him in others and radiate Him to our families,  to our neighborhoods, to our world.  Our playing small does glorify God, it doesn’t save the world…we are called to love, to share Jesus with the world.  When we let our light shine we help others to do the same.  In our inner self we encounter Love, we encounter Jesus.  He is dwells in each of us.  Heart knows heart.
