Msgr. Esseff enjoyed a day off by visiting The Seminary of the Good Shepherd, in Sydney, Australia.  To his surprise, leaders of the seminary had experienced The Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha.  One participated last year, one was there now, and the rector was planning on traveling to Omaha during the summer session 2013.  Delighted by this visit and the beauty of the seminary, Msgr. Esseff reflects on the hope and joy of the young men who are in the “heart of the fire”.  He ponders the experience of the 3 young men found in the book of the prophet Daniel and the response of the Sacred Heart to today’s seminarians willingness to serve the Church.

All of us should be willing to be cast into the fire.
